At the end of 2023, the board of Antofagasta Minerals - responsible for mining operations such as Zaldívar and Los Pelambres, among others - announced a US$4.4 billion investment for the Nueva Centinela (DMC) project, becoming the largest mining investment initiated in the last five years.
